Say Hello to Flawless Skin

Too much fun in the sun taking a toll on your skin? Even with the sun setting on the last of your summer days, here is how to get that sexy chest and sun kissed skin.

Vitamins for Sexy, Glowy Skin

One of the best and most efficient ways to improve your tone texture is to use antioxidants such as Vitamin C. But first, what exactly are oxidants and antioxidants? As your body is breaking down oxygen, it is also undergoing a decaying process called oxidation. Although oxidation is a necessary and natural process in our bodies, cells get damaged throughout the process and these damaged cells then turn into free radical cells. Free radicals are highly unstable and are what causes these physical changes that we see and associate with "aging," (wrinkles, smile lines, etc). But to counter this, we can take antioxidant supplements! One example of antioxidant supplement that we will focus on today is Vitamin C. Vitamin C is incredibly important for your body and skin because it helps stimulate your body's production of collagen. Collagen is a vital protein that provides structure and support for the skin.

There are many different forms of Vitamin C available. However, not all of these forms are equally stable and provide your body with the same amount of nutrients. These different forms vary in their bioavailability. Bioavailability describes the quantity of material that enters the blood and lymphatic system and is able to positively affect your body.

  1.  Eat foods rich in Vitamin C such as:
    • Guava
    • Pineapple
    • Kiwi
    • Watermelon
    • Oranges

One of the most common forms of Vitamin C that has high bioavailability is ascorbic acid. Ascorbic acid is found abundantly in many fruits, such as the ones listed above!

2. Use moisturizers and serums that are rich in Vitamin C.

Although fruits are a great source of ascorbic acid, ascorbic acid can also be artificially made (while still providing your body with the same bioavailability. The best serums are rich in ascorbic acid!

3. Take Vitamin C supplements.

Ester-C is a version of Vitamin C that contains a lot of calcium ascorbate. This is able to increase the bioavailability of Vitamin C.

Skin Nourishment: Food for Great Skin

Even though everybody loves some fun in the sun, people can often forget about its powerful rays and UV radiation. This can lead to skin damage. The best and easiest way to protect yourself is to use sunscreen.

Sunscreen is great for so many reasons!!

  • it protects you from harmful rays that can lead to cancer
  • it will also help prevent brown spots and further pigmentation
  • it helps reduce blotchiness
  • it slows down the rate at which wrinkles develop

Quench Your Thirsty Skin

It's always great to keep your skin feeling fresh and moisturized! But it's also important to understand what works best for your skin.

Certain moisturizers are better than others because they contain key ingredients that not only moisturize, but can retain the moisture within the skin. Oils are an incredible source of skin hydration.

Some good oils are:

  • Coconut Oil
  • Argan Oil
  • Jojoba Oil
  • Lavender Oil
  • Olive Oil

Why You Shouldn't Buy Cosmetic Products at Sephora or Nordstrom
  • Over the counter products are compatible to a generic customer base, not catered to you.
  • Over the counter products with simple cheap formulas in mass production.
  • Over the counter products do not contain ingredients that are able to penetrate past the top layers of skin.
  • By choosing medical grade cosmetics, you are not only able to more effectively address areas of concern. But you are also able to get more for your money!
